The National History Bowl Is a two-stage team competition, consisting of the Regional or State History Bowls and the National Championships. Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to compete. Teams are made up of six people however only four compete at a time. There is no limit to the amount of teams a school can enter into the Junior Varsity Division made of 9th and 10th graders; so feel free to join! Teams will play five preliminary rounds, each of which contain a variety of questions on all ears and all aspects of history. The top teams qualify for both the playoffs, which are held in the afternoon, and for entry into the National Championship. The Junior Varsity can also qualify for both the playoffs and for entry into the National Championship in their division.
