The National History Bee is a two-stage competition for individual students consisting of the Regional or State History Bees and the National Championships. The format is faster-paced and more exciting than other bees, as students will have a buzzer to answer the questions. The Regional and State Bees have three preliminary rounds in which all students will compete. The top three students from all three round combined then compete in the Regional of State Bee Finals and winners of the Final will qualify for the National Championships. 9th and 10th graders have the option to compete in a separate Junior Varsity division.
